ARTP Sleep Overnight Pulse Oximetry Certificate

Overview

This is an introductory certificate in understanding nocturnal pulse oximetry. This is split in to 4 sections including candidate CV and background of the department including the referral process and pathway, protocol for performing the diagnostic test, and an understanding of how the device works and limitations. The final section will require the candidate to collect 10 nocturnal pulse oximetry traces (criteria supplied) and provide a mini case study for each one.

Target Audience

This certificate is aimed at Bands 2-4 who are working in a sleep department. The ARTP Overnight Pulse Oximetry Certificate aims to provide a competence based assessment for the performance and analysis of Overnight Pulse Oximetry.

Assessment Format

The format of the assessment requires a portfolio of evidence to be completed over 6 months within your workplace. The certificate consists of completion of a portfolio that’s made up for four sections, which need to be completed within 6 months. This is to provide a competence based assessment for the performance and analysis of Overnight Pulse Oximetry. You would be sent a full portfolio guide explaining exactly what is required upon registration for the certificate. There is no e-learning or attendance for any learning required.
