New ARTP Standard - Respiratory and Sleep Physiology Diagnostic Reporting

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Respiratory and Sleep Physiology Diagnostic Reporting Standard, developed by the ARTP Standards Committee.

This national standard defines the maximum reporting times for a range of respiratory and sleep diagnostic tests, ensuring that test results are delivered in a clinically meaningful timeframe to support faster diagnosis and treatment.

It provides departments and service leads with evidence to support appropriate staffing and skill mix in line with the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan’s vision of a modern, productive, and sustainable diagnostic workforce.

Implementation of these standards will support respiratory and sleep physiology services to effectively deliver national targets for earlier diagnosis, equitable access, and improved clinical outcomes.
