Position: NED - Patient

Who am I?

Due to my health conditions, I have had many experiences of hospital care both as an outpatient and an inpatient and I am keen to be able to give something back for all the care and support I have received.

I volunteered with Cambridge Breatheasy for a number of years before going to work full time in the charity sector for The Salvation Army. As a leader (minister) of several churches, shops, a community centre as well as a prison chaplain, I have developed a range of skills and experiences over the last 15 years. These include working with the public, other organisations, and charities; as well as managing staff and buildings, publicity and fund raising. I retired last year and now spend a lot of my time providing childcare for my three young grandchildren.

A bit about me

I have a ‘go getter’ attitude to life with a passion for justice and care for people. As a people person I am easy to get along with, I take responsibilities very seriously but I also enjoy a good laugh! I enjoy motorhome holidays with my husband, cycling, reading, dog walking and vernacular domestic architecture.

What would you like to achieve in your new role?

I would like to bring the patients perspective to the table to help provide a rounded look at each situation and suggestion.
