Right Touch Assurance Assessment for Healthcare Science in Scotland

29 July 2026 (Last updated: 30 Jul 2026 13:59)

Please kindly see the update below from the Scottish Government Healthcare Science Policy Team regarding the Right Touch Assurance Assessment for Healthcare Science.

In Healthcare Science in Scotland: Defining Our Strategic Approach and Healthcare Science in Scotland: Redefining Our Workforce, the Scottish Government set out its intention to ensure the expertise of the Healthcare Science NHS workforce is fully utilised to meet the evolving needs of the population. To support that work, the PSA has been asked to consider whether current regulatory and employer controls are sufficient to manage any risk of harm arising from these roles. As we embark on this project, we are writing to a range of stakeholders who could have evidence that would help guide our assessment, or who may simply want to join our Community of Interest for this piece of work.

Please download our Explainer document here, which has all the information about us, the project, and how to get involved. You can also find this information on our website.

We ask that you complete our short questionnaires if you are interested:

Data questionnaire – please submit by midnight on Sunday 9 August

Community of Interest questionnaire – please submit by midnight on Sunday 2 August
