TITLE

CRITERIA

A

PTP STUDENTS

Enrolled on the Practitioner Training Programme/ BSc Healthcare Science or Year 4 BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology Students. Proof of ongoing enrolment at the HEI may be required. PTP students from either respiratory or cardiology will be eligible to join.

B

STP STUDENTS

Enrolled on the Scientist Training Programme. Proof of ongoing enrolment at the HEI may be required

C

ASSISTANT PRACTITIONERS
NHS pay bands 1-4 (with voting rights)

Assistant Practitioners or Healthcare Assistants

D

Unregistered Member

NHS pay bands 5-9 (with voting rights)

A qualified healthcare scientist who is performing Respiratory and/or Sleep diagnostics/therapy, who is not currently on a register (see Tariff E for examples)

E

Registered Member NHS pay bands 5-9 (with voting rights)

Registered member who is currently accepted onto one of the  registers below:

·        RCCP

·        HCPC

·        ACS

·        AHCS

F

ALLIED MEMBER (WITHOUT RECIPROCAL AGREEMENT)

Qualified who provide diagnostics in a clinical environment. For example: clinicians, physiotherpists, other physiology disciplines, nurse/nurse practitioners, academics, etc.

G

ALLIED MEMBER (WITH RECIPROCAL AGREEMENT)

As above with reciprocal agreement, e.g. BSS, BTS

H

COMPANY MEMBERSHIP

(Primary)

Open to companies involved in the fields of Respiratory/Sleep technology, physiology and pharmacology. Companies will specify a designated primary contact

COMPANY MEMBERSHIP

(Secondary)

Personal membership when their company is already a Corporate Member

J

SLEEP ONLY

ARTP Sleep membership is available to all Sleep Practitioners.

K

OVERSEAS

Employed in Respiratory Physiology, or an allied discipline, or who has an interest in Respiratory Physiology. Other membership benefits are unaffected.

 

Reciprocal Membership Agreements

  • The British Thoracic Society (BTS) have agreed that ARTP members are eligible for their concessionary rate (irrespective of the salary threshold)
  • All ARTP members can become European Respiratory Society (ERS) members with all associated benefits and rights for a discounted annual fee. Further details can be seen via this link

Membership applications are accepted at the discretion of the ARTP Executive Board, and the decision of the Executive Board is final.
